Don’t let the square footage of this restaurant chases you away... it’s located on Santa Clara near S 9th street. With one strip of 4 tables along the wall and few more outside, so come little bit early before noon if you want to eat in...most dishes are priced at $8.50 for eat in or take home. I would recommend spicy noodles soup. Bring cash!

My first time there today.I got there at about 10:00am . I bought three items. One item was smell and that item was not much left right there and the lady give me a lot of it. I was thinking oh she's nice. When I got home ready to eat open the box it was smelly. It must be the left overs from other days. That's why she gave alot. This is first time I wrote the review. I am very upset.

Best veggie place in San Jose. Love the owners and the food is healthy and hits the spot every time. I love going here bc I can eat anything on the menu. The beef jerky has been a fav of mine since 2003.

This place has the best vegetarian pho I have ever had. If you come here for the first time order the pho to get hooked. They also have other dishes that are very tasty but I personally always go for the pho. This review brought to you by a meat lover. Don’t ever let this place go out of business I would be devastated.

Hands down one of the best family owned little vegan place I have been to! Sweetest owners who takes pride in their food and hospitality. Prices are nominal. Food is great! They have been owning this place for 22 years!

As a carnivore, I just have to say that this place is really great. My favorites are the grilled pork banh mi, the drumsticks, chow mein and the meatball skewers. It's a really tiny place that only has a few small tables though on clear days there is a table or 2 outside. I've only ever got my food to go.

My new go to for Vietnamese Vegan eats. It's cash only and holds a few tables inside and outside. I had the bamboo soup for $9.50 and it was packed with flavor. Hard to believe it's all animal free!

Pretty good vegetarian food restaurant, tasty!

The food is beyond excellent! The only reason I'm not giving this place a full 5 stars is because the location is so bad. Also, I once decided to take my food to go, but it just wasn't the same quality as eating in, which was a shame since I would love to eat this more often, but it's just too much of a hassle. Other than that, I highly recommend this place at least once since the food is amazing, and there are few vegan places that can compare.

Love going to this place! They have been here for more than ten years Erving vegetarian food at an affordable price to San Jose state university and the people and the community in general. Always fast service; do prepare for crazy lunch traffic so avoid that time of the day. You can request them to modify, example have the pho noodle to go with the yellow noodle. Definitely try this hole in the wall mom and pop Vietnamese vegan place.

I ate here for the second time. The first time the food was alright but this time it was a terrible experience. After ordering our food my friend and I sat outside and this server guy came outside and kept telling us they're closing however it was 30 minutes before their closing time and we saw people still eating outside and inside and new folks still going in but he made it a point to only tell us that he's closing not to anyone else. On top of that it got really uncomfortable when he got in between our personal conversation repeating what I said to my friend. My friend was taken aback, she even remarked maybe he doesn't like brown people. What a terrible experience to give to your customers.

Eat the pho. The fried rice and rice plates are worth the $. Bring cash!!! 20 dollars feeds two easily.

BEST VEGAN PLACE IN THE BAY AREA. The food is so good and they have affordable prices which is why im able to go here so often. The banh mi's here are the best and you really cant find a better banh mi elsewhere. My bf isnt even vegan but he loves their banh mi's.

Fantastic vegan Vietnamese food at a place that is a bit run down, but you won’t be disappointed by the flavors and textures. I had the fried rice with 2 main dish choices for $9 and an even $10 with a Soda. Cash only. Staff are friendly and its fun to listen to them speaking Vietnamese amongst themselves and with some local regulars. The owner said he opened this shop more than 35 years ago after coming from Vietnam. The vegan ‘meats’ were originally made using bananas, but they now use soy base or jackfruit. The vegan kebabs and chicken were really tasty and filling. I’d been frustrated by the lack of vegetarian options when I visited Vietnam in the 90’s, but the owners assured me I would find a lot of great options now. Such friendly people. For sustainability, eat-in diners on reusable plates and utensils but to-go in plastic packaging in plastic bags it seems (so bring your own to save in take-out waste if you can).

Certainty a FoodAdventure. Stumbled upon this place while briefly in town. A compete, 100% #vegan Vietnamese Pho hole-in-the-wall eatery. No seafood, no bone broth. All plants. No hipsters. This place is run by Vietnamese and is therefore entirely ethnic with no trace of pretentiousness. Staff is super nice and were helpful to us with a certain personal issue (left something at their cafe). Only the tiniest little remark- the imitation meats could be of slightly higher quality, and perhaps more emphasis on tempeh/tofu as meat replacements would work better in making the meals just that bit More Healthy

My "go to" place for healthy, tasty, quick and inexpensive vegan food. The variety of soups offered are hearty and delicious -- the house pho is my fave! There are also several "meaty" meat-less options available every day, each served with either rice or noodles. Great food, great value!

It wasn't the best Bun Bo Hue Chay I've had but it was good and hit the spot.While I was eating, a lot of customers came in to order their various dishes. They have several combo options- similar to when you go to a Chinese styrofoam box type place.Would definitely come back to support the mom&pop restaurant!

Do yourself a favor and eat here! I just discovered this place and I’m hooked. Seriously. The spicy pho is sooo good & you won’t need to add any seasoning or sauce, it’s perfect the way they make it. Also, the owners are very friendly and pleasant. Just make sure you have cash as they don’t take card.

Everything on the menu is vegan and reasonably priced (~$10 for a meal), and their imitation meat is delicious! Best vegan/vegetarian pho I've ever had. The broth is flavorful unlike many other restaurants' veggie pho which are bland and unsatisfying. I also enjoy their large variety of deli items - highly recommend the kung pao "chicken"

I love their soups! They are fresh flavorfulit's old, tiny and cold inside bring a jacket or take your soup to go. There is outside street seating. I'm going to try other items they have pre made.

Really good pho and bun bo hue. The broth was really delicious. They have other soups like Mi Quang, Hu Tieu, and Bun Rieu that I want to try too

If you are looking for the Vietnamese vegetarian food. This is the go-to place. It's the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant in the bay area. All their soups are really fantastic.

Love this place. I've beem coming here for years. The phó, pork buns, flan and others desserts are some of my favorite things. Small, amazing shop!

My favorite vegetarian place in San José. It's tiny and there's nothing flashy about it but the food is delicious. They've got a wide range of dishes available and I've enjoyed everything I've tried. The rice plates are great but the only thing I eat there anymore is the soup. To my understanding, it's fully vegan but the broth is on par with the best beef-based broths I've tried elsewhere (depth of flavor wise, not that it tastes like beef). The service is always quick as well- a great place to stop if you're in a hurry.
